interview with blade3rd

megamaxmax here i know we  dont get a lot of news so i interview the guy that saved roblox blade3rd!(by saved i mean keep people from quiting)

M:is it only made by you scripts and all?

B:I made Zombie Assault mostly by myself over a course of 3 months. My development partner was Vyse1107. He’s my brother, so he does some minor work for me. He
 was the one that built
 the weapon shop (it used to have a sign on the side made out of 1X1X1 bricks, and its really pwnage. It said GunShop XP. However, due to lag reasons, I had
 to take it out). He also
built that admin hq building. He gave me the support I need, a few ideas ( the flesk section, trucks, intro, the preview picture) and helped me test run all
the sections. He deservses
some credit too. I’m human, I give credit where it is due, not keep it all. But aside from that, I did the rest (including having to invent a Tri-Vectorial
Coordination Positional Regeneration
System (TVCPRS) for the game. Or was it reinvent. Well, nobody tells me it was invented before, so I guess I invented it). I’m proud of it. Its a lot of work.

M:how much money do you think you got from it?

B:Let me look.

M:where did you get the idea?

B:Playing Halo2. I just wanted to do things differently. So I started it up as a minor project and it turned into this.

M:do you have any else you want to add to your place? maybe and admin room?

B:Theres going to be a shooting range (with compelte random generation of targets) but it lags up the server. I might be able to fit it in.
Theres might be a actual commander’s room. I’m going to set up a secret network to pick good commanders, and give them extra stuff in the Hq. If the lag doesnt’ stop me.
M:cant you just add an antilag script?

B:I added an anti lag script already. But there is only one good anti lag script. The rest are fakes. =(

M:do you have anymore ideas about places?

B:Well, I’m building a Sequel, and I have a boss fight demo in the works, but as far as ideas, I’m one of those, get them as I go along type.

M:last one your only 2 years(1 if you count my birthday later this year) older then me started later then me on roblox so how did you get so good at scripting?
B:May I direct you to this site?
www.gamemaker.nl I learned scripting there. To go to lua in Roblox, all it took was two weeks to get used to it, and now I’m really good.

ROBLOX has released 2 new hats upon us!
The bucket hat can now be bought at a price of 800 tix.
Quite a high price as some of the Robloxians say.
One can commonly see complaints by other players
about how high the price is for a very “easy” hat.
Also, as many of you may know, ROBLOX has created
a new hat as a prize for the winners of the current contest,
The Funny Movie Contest, and is known as the Security Camera.
What a good reference to a video contest. Also, the well-known
Helmet Hat has been updated. The price is still the same (R$ 93)
however, not much is known about its update. Its likely to be a texture change but many claims state that its not. To summarise,
ROBLOX has released 2 new hats, the Bucket Hat and the Security Camera, and has updated the Helmet Hat.

New Roblox Contest

ROBLOX is having a YouTube movie contest and the theme is humor. Be sure to read all the guidelines below to make sure your funny YouTube movie gets entered.

Prizes!

There will be 5 (and only 5) winners for this event. They each will receive the Video Contest exclusive hat. They will also receive $R 300. There is no ranking among the five. All of them are winners.

Rules

1. Create a humorous ROBLOX video. You can learn how to make Roblox movies from the tutorial.

2. Please make all videos suitable for viewing by kids, grandmas, school teachers, and your next door neighbor. No profanity or inappropriate images. Any video that breaks the standard ROBLOX rules will not be able to win.

3. Videos should be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes long. Most of the footage should be ROBLOX related.

4. On your video page put the following information.

• 1. Username
• 2. Link to ROBLOX – http://www.roblox.com
• 3. Tags – “ROBLOX” and “may-funny”

5. Contest Closes Monday June 9 at 6pm Pacific time (9pm Eastern). All videos must be posted by this time.

7. Winners and prizes will be announced within a week of the contest close.

How To Win

The winners will be chosen by the ROBLOX Team who will search for videos with all the right things. Videos must have been uploaded since the contest started (no old videos!), must have the right links and tags, must have your username.

Most of all they must be funny! The ROBLOX Team will watch the highest rated and watched videos and pick the ones they think are most funny. This contest is subjective to the Team’s humor. Not everyone will agree that your video is funny, but we hope it is too!

Extra Rules:

Feel free to talk about your video on the ROBLOX forums and link to it. Don’t post more than once though!

Google videos will not be accepted. Only videos on YouTube will count for this event.

You can work in teams OF UP TO 3 PEOPLE. Each person in a winning team would get the hat, but the money would be split between you. All the team’s names must be listed on the YouTube video information.

If this contest goes well ROBLOX may have more of them in the future. They think it’s great how many videos there are about ROBLOX. You guys are so creative!
